You refused Mahama office but want to pay salaries for Rebecca, Samira and even backdate it-Bawah Mogtari jabs

According to aide of former President John Dramani Mahama, the 2020 flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is the only former President, who has no office given to him by the state.
Even though Mr Mahama is entitled to this office, the former Deputy Minister of Transport Joyce Bawah Mogtari says President Akufo-Addo has refused to give his predecessor one.
She could not come to terms with latest news that the First and Second Ladies, Rebecca Akufo-Addo and Samira Bawumia, are going to be paid salaries equivalent to a Cabinet Minister coupled with the fact that they will be receiving all benefits that is due such ministers and backdate it to 2017.
Mrs Mogtari also recalled how in 2017, the same former President, was denied the use of a government bungalow, even though he was entitled to that also.
The comments by the lawyer and politician come on the back of reports that, Parliament has approved emoluments for spouses of the current first and second ladies and also their predecessors.
Mrs Mogtari who waded into the raging debate which has become very topical especially on social media said it was shocking that a President and a party that refused Mr Maahama what is rightfully his, will now muster courage to want to not only pay his wife and that of the second lady salary instead of allowance but even backdate it to 2017.
“We were all in this country when Akufo-Addo refused Former President John Dramani Mahama the use of a government house, as he was entitled to, as a former president.
In fact, President Mahama is the only former president who does not have an office from the State as is his right. And it is because President Akufo-Addo refuses him that privilege.
Today, the same Akufo-Addo and the NPP are making moral arguments to justify the decision to pay the First and Second Ladies monthly salaries, equivalent to that of a Cabinet Minister, backdated to 2017 January, and with all benefits due a Cabinet Minister.
As someone said, is this country all about Nana Addo’s family?
Acta non vetba!!”, he posted on facebook.
