Nana Is Delivering Deception -Omane Boamah

Dr. Edward Omane Boamah

Former Minister of Communications in the John Dramani Mahama administration, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, says that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is delivering deception as against what he promised before winning the 2016 elections.

In the estimation of Dr. Boamah, Nana Akufo-Addo hoodwinked Ghanaians into believing in what he was not.

Speaking on Accra-based Power Fm’s ‘Inside Politics’ programme, he explained that when President Akufo-Addo said he was coming to empower Ghanaian small scale miners, he was rather talking about empowering NPP Galamsey.

“Taxpayers money wasted on the facade fight against Galamsey would’ve been used in recruiting and paying teachers, nurses and ending the double track system among others,” he said.

Without mincing words, Dr. Omane said that President Akufo-Addo has failed miserably in the fight against Galamsey

“I will like to ask, when Nana Addo said he was ready to put his presidency on the line in fighting Galamsey, was he playing with our emotions or he meant it? Nana Addo has failed miserably in the fight against Galamsey,” he added.

Touching on how the current administration has abandoned projects commenced during the Mahama administration, he said: “Visionary JM has put up so many health facilities across the nation and sadly they’re being abandoned by the current administration led by Nana Addo.”

Currently, the first-class University of Ghana Hospital and the Bank of Ghana Hospital located at Cantonment in Accra are all idle because they were projects that were initiated under President Mahama’s era.

There are murmurings that allowing those projects to function would expose the current administration’s non-performance.

Still on deceit, Dr. Boamah said that the argument posited by the NPP that the 40-year development plan was too long to go by was a fluke.

“Surprisingly and sadly today they’re comfortable in issuing 40-year bonds….is that not too long too, why not just 10 years? ” he said.

Dr. Boamah said: “Since Nana Addo came into office, fuel price has gone up over 24 times, he promised heaven and now delivering deception, at least maintain it where we were.”
