Lawyer Maurice Ampaw has described former President Jerry John Rawlings as a hypocrite because of the silence in the matter involving the Black Stars Skipper, Asamoah Gyan and Sarah Kwabla.
An Accra Circuit Court threw out a case filed by Gyan against Ms. Kwabla and three others for blackmail and extortion.
The court presided over by Her Honour Afia Agbanu Kumador upheld a submission of no case filed by lawyers of Ms. Kwabla and the other accused persons against Gyan.
The Black Stars Captain had dragged Ms. Kwabla and the rest to court for conspiracy and extortion after Ms. Kwabla alleged that he raped her.
Lawyer Ampaw in an interview with Accra-based Happy Fm after the case was thrown out, said that if there was anybody he was disappointed in, that person was former President Rawlings.
According to him, the former who claims to be with the truth and nothing else, refused to speak for Ms. Kwabla, who hails from the same region with the former President.
He said that former President who was fully aware of the issues involving Ms. Kwabla and Gyan rather associated himself with the later and was always present at his events.
In plain language, Lawyer Ampaw said that he was highly disappointed in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Founder because he (Lawyer Ampaw) had been there for the Rawlingses in time past when he felt that they were not being treated fairly.
The elated Lawyer Ampaw told the radio station that he tried severally to have the issue settled out of court because he did not have any problem with Gyan but the footballer was adamant to come forward.
