Education workers Connect has been caught in weird game for posing as a think-tank but doing a hatchet job for a political party.
The think-tank, whose principal objective is advocating for quality education and its related issues across the country, is using its platform for activities that inure to the benefits of persons and political parties.
A top official of the think-tank after article questioning the committee on reopening of schools sent a message to members of a certain party, which he claimed was affiliated to the Education Workers Connect.
What is amazing is the fact that a confidential text message from the Executive Secretary of the think tank on how the party could take advantage of the article he wrote was leaked by one of the people he trusted to be part of the weird agenda,
The article by Daniel Yao Agbezudor had sought to ridicule the committee put together to fashion out modalities on how to reopen schools.
What the Education Workers Connect refused to acknowledge is the fact that the committee was still in place despite the announcement of reopening of schools by President Nana Akufo-Addo.
The President in the last national address on COVID-19 announced the return to school of Junior High Schools form two students and Senior High Schools form two students on 5th October 2020.
Kindergarten to the SHS form one are to return to school in January 2021.
The Education Workers Connect in that article said: ‘’Even though we do not have issues with the decision, no matter how uncomfortable it will be for some other stakeholders in the sector, ie the Private Schools who have been badly hit by the decision and the situation for obvious reasons, we find the announcement by our President very puzzling and worrying.’’
